Some Snook Facts
- Snook are found from Central Florida to the Florida Keys, inshore in coastal and brackish waters.
- Snook are prevalent along mangrove shorelines, seawalls and bridges, and also on reefs and piling nearshore.
- Snook can live in fresh or saltwater, but can not tolerate water temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Snook feed on fish and large crustaceans.
- Most snook that are caught weigh between 5 and 8 pounds.
- The largest snook caught in Florida weighed 44 pounds, 3 ounces.
